𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗳𝗳 𝗖𝗼𝗿𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 |
Khandaker Zabed Gelany, a native of Habiganj, has topped the national merit list of the National University’s LL.B Final Examination-2023 following the re-scrutiny of his answer scripts.
Gelany scored 488 marks after re-scrutiny, securing First Class First among 9,671 candidates nationwide, according to the re-scrutinized results.
He had initially secured ninth position nationwide in the original results. Dissatisfied with his marks, he applied for re-scrutiny. His marks subsequently increased to 488, placing him at the top of the national merit list.
In the original results, Jannatul Ferdous of Barishal Law College secured first place in First Class with 485 marks.

Gelany appeared in the examination from Capital Law College, Dhaka.
College Principal Advocate Sharmin Kabir expressed her pride over the achievement, saying:
“This is not only an individual achievement of a student; it is also a matter of great pride for Capital Law College.”
Vice Principal Advocate Akbar Hossain Jewel said Gelany was a diligent and responsible student with strong leadership qualities.
“His achievement has made us proud,” he said.
✦ 𝗔 𝗗𝗜𝗩𝗘𝗥𝗦𝗘 𝗔𝗖𝗔𝗗𝗘𝗠𝗜𝗖 𝗝𝗢𝗨𝗥𝗡𝗘𝗬
Gelany completed his Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in English from Government Titumir College, Dhaka, and later obtained a Master’s degree in English Language Teaching (ELT) from Jahangirnagar University.
He is currently involved in English language education and training as the Founder & CEO of English Orbit, Dhaka. Alongside his educational activities, he is also pursuing his professional career.

Gelany hails from Ghoraboi village under Rajiuara Union of Habiganj Sadar Upazila. He is the son of Khandaker Ekhlas Mia and Syeda Safia Khatun.
His achievement has brought pride and joy to his hometown, with people from different sections of the community congratulating him on his success.
Expressing gratitude to his family, teachers, colleagues and mentors, Gelany attributed his achievement to their continued support, his consistent academic efforts and, above all, the blessings of Almighty Allah.
“I sat for the examination in English and initially ranked ninth nationwide. As I was not satisfied with my marks, I applied for re-scrutiny. Alhamdulillah, I have now achieved the result I was hoping for,” he said.

Speaking about his future plans, Gelany said he wants to contribute to both English language education and legal education.

With 488 marks and First Class First among 9,671 candidates, Gelany’s re-scrutinized result marks a significant milestone in his academic journey.
His achievement adds a new chapter to his continuing journey in education, law and knowledge development, opening new avenues for his future work in teaching and legal education.
