This year's summer preparedness kits brought a library theme to life for children in pre-K through second grade. Each kit included a bilingual book, healthy snacks, and fun gifts - feeding young minds and fueling summer adventures. A big thank you to the local libraries who contributed summer reading lists and programming calendars: L.E. Phillips Memorial Public Library, Brown County Library, Marathon County Public Library (MCPL), and McMillan Memorial Library.

This initiative was made possible through incredible collaboration with our community partners: Brown County United Way, United Way Greater Chippewa Valley, United Way of Marathon County, and the United Way of South Wood & Adams Counties. We’re also deeply thankful to the PBS Wisconsin Education team for their enthusiastic support and valuable input.

Our kits were given to:
• Students “graduating” 4K in the Wausau School District
• Early care students at the Woodson YMCA, Inc.
• River Source Family Center
• Family Promise of the Chippewa Valley - Beacon House
• Boys & Girls Clubs of the Greater Chippewa Valley
• Western Dairyland Child Care Partnership program
• Encompass
