Klinner Kramer Shull has major changes to announce as 2023 concludes and 2024 begins. First, Mark Klinner retired as of December 31, 2023, after 25 years as a senior partner in our firm and 38 years as a lawyer. Mark was one of the firm’s three founders. He, Dick Zalewski, and Randy Sandfort left another Wausau law firm in 1998 and formed Sandfort, Zalewski & Klinner, L.L.P., focusing their practice on insurance defense litigation. During his tenure, Mark’s trial skills and commitment to the practice were reliable constants in the ever-changing landscape of insurance defense law. His insight and unflappable calm are already missed.
Mark and his wife Barb moved from Wausau to northern Illinois in November to be closer to their children. We wish Mark all the best in his, now full-time, job as dad and grandpa.
With Randy Sandfort and Dick Zalewski’s retirements from the firm in 2000 and 2014, respectively, the firm’s name was updated to reflect the new senior partners. In 2001 the firm became Zalewski, Klinner & Kramer, L.L.P. and has been Klinner Kramer Shull LLP since 2015. Attorney Elizabeth Reeths became a senior partner at the beginning of 2023, as Mark began planning for his retirement. We are pleased to announce that as of January 1, 2024, the firm name is now Kramer Shull Reeths LLP.
Elizabeth joined us as a baby lawyer after graduating from University of Wisconsin Law School in 2011. In her thirteen years with the firm, she has become an experienced litigator and accomplished appellate lawyer. Elizabeth authors the chapter on emotional distress damages in the must-have treatise for Wisconsin civil lawyers, The Law of Damages in Wisconsin. She has been designated a Rising Star for Insurance Coverage by Wisconsin Super Lawyers magazine for the last six years and has served in leadership roles and on committees for the State Bar of Wisconsin, Wisconsin Defense Counsel, and Marathon County Bar Association.
We are thrilled to have Elizabeth as a senior partner, and we look forward to serving our insurance companies and other clients in 2024 and beyond as Kramer Shull Reeths!
