Changes are coming to the Wisconsin worker’s compensation system! Effective January 1, 2026, worker’s compensation adjudicatory functions, including hearings, will be transferred from the Department of Administration to the Department of Workforce Development. This is a terrific event and supports a worthy cause!

Did you know that the Wisconsin River Valley Chapter of Trout Unlimited will be hosting Wisconsin’s premiere showing of the 2025 International Fly-Fishing Film Festival?
The event comes to Wausau on Wednesday evening, February 5th, at 5 p.m. at the UWSP, Wausau Campus, Center for Civic Engagement Theater. This will be a fun filled night of fantastic films, drawings, raffles, food, beverages, and a great time! The Wisconsin River Valley Chapter of Trout Unlimited brings this event to the community, which is our chapter’s primary source of fundraising. All proceeds from this event go to support cold-water conservation, trout habitat restoration, public access, and youth environmental outdoor education through Trout Camp and Trout in the Classroom programs. Doors open at 5:00 p.m. with the films beginning at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are $15 online at flyfilmfest.com or $20 at the door (UWSP - Wausau Center for Civic Engagement, 625 Stewart Avenue, Wausau, WI) on the night of the event.
