We're seeing more and more underpaid or denied claims from the supercell that hit central Alabama on February 26, 2026. Some insurers are claiming that hail damage is "wear and tear" or "mechanical damage." Others are refusing to replace wind damaged roofs that need to be replaced by shingles have been blown off or ripped. However, when storm damage happens, the insurance company must pay what the policy says, not look the other way on obvious storm damage.
