Rain can change California roads in an instant. ☔️🚗 Slick pavement, low visibility, and the first rainfall after dry weather all make driving more dangerous.
Stay safer by slowing down, turning your headlights on, and avoiding sudden braking. Keep extra distance between vehicles, watch for standing water, and make sure your tires and wipers are in good condition. At night, be extra alert rain and glare can make it harder to judge distance and see others on the road.
If an accident happens, move to safety if possible, document everything, and seek medical attention right away.
Stay cautious, stay prepared, and drive defensively when the weather turns wet.
