Never have I ever been more proud of her. My daughter completed her AP research project about the Oklahoma foster system, and last night gave the presentation. She surprised us with this last slide.

My daughter is doing an AP Research paper on the effects of being in foster care in adulthood. She is looking for adults (ages 18-25) to participate in a survey. The goal of her paper is to identify the long term effects of being in foster care and identify resources and lack of resources in our community. If you would be willing to participate or know someone willing to participate, please email Ragon Francy at [email protected] - the survey will be sent out in a few months. She is currently in the process of collecting participants.

368,530 of children in the United States are in foster care, so it would take 5 NFL stadiums to hold all of the children in the foster care system.

Every 81 seconds a child enters the foster care system, so during the game 178 children will enter the foster care system.

20-23,000 teenagers age out every year and 20% are immediately homeless. (That means approximately 2300 aged out so far this year)

Americans will spend $18.6 BILLION dollars celebrating the Super Bowl this year.

If you’re wondering where our country’s priorities are…. I’d say those statistics say a lot.

On another note - haven’t seen any legislation this year addressing these issues. ✝️✝️✝️✝️

Presents will be delivered or picked up by the person who nominated the child and the gift will be FROM YOU! We just want to make sure some really deserving kids have an excellent Christmas!

Please send us an email telling us about your kiddo, and why we should choose them! Please have all nominations emailed by Monday December 9th at 5 pm. We are going to try to meet as many needs as possible!

There is so much brokenness sometimes in foster care and adoption. But there is also so much healing and success. It’s important we celebrate and support those on both ends of the spectrum. Those celebrating the small and massive successes. But what I love is the idea that children in foster care have representation and someone to emulate 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
