An unconstitutional 1% sales surtax was imposed in Hillsborough County between January 1, 2019, and March 15, 2021. A Settlement resolved the case against Hillsborough County. My latest article explains how current statute should be amended to eliminate an outdated and illogical loophole in our parental consent law and further reduce judiciary's unnecessary entanglement with abortion.

The current law was enacted for good reasons, but it is no longer necessary.

Amazingly, I managed to work in the legal industry for nearly 20 years and earn millions of dollars without ever suing anybody North of Orlando or South of New York City. (I have defended numerous suits, but managed to keep them in state court, pro hac, or consult with trial counsel.) Unfortunately, due to egregious government conduct by both the deep state and academia, that time is at an end. In other news, I got admitted to NDFL today. Stay tuned.

RE: Jerry Torres Wins Case, Restored to Ballot for Good

TAMPA - Jerry Torres, GOP candidate for Congress in FL-14, announced today he has been permanently restored to the ballot following a ruling by an appeals court.

Torres said, “I am pleased that the court upheld the rights of the voters to choose their candidate. This was nothing but a politically-motivated boondoggle brought by desperate Democrats who are afraid to face me in a general election. Team Torres is moving full speed ahead to victory on Tuesday!”

He continued, “I would like to thank the voters who have supported me throughout this process, as well as my legal team: Sam Salario, Chuck Kelly, Joe Eagleton, and Mike Beltran. My faith in our justice system is now restored.”

We are very gratified by the appeals court's decision reinstating Special Forces Veteran, Businessman, and Philanthropist Jerry Torres to the ballot. The Democrats had no right to sue Torres for ballot ouster in the first place. The Plaintiffs had no interest apart from the public as a whole. Torres was approved by the Secretary of State and thousands of ballots were printed by the Supervisors of Elections and disseminated throughout the community. Those ballots represent the will of the people and all of them should, and now will, be counted.

According to the First District Court of Appeal, the trial judge is reversed and ordered to enter judgment in Torres' favor. Torres is back on the ballot and votes for Torres will count.

The case is Torres v. Shaw, 1D22-2423 (Fla. 1st DCA August 19, 2022) (opinion attached).
