This month, we're highlighting U.S. Immigration Law Counsel, a full-service immigration law firm representing clients across all 50 states. From family-based immigration petitions to employment visas and business immigration solutions, their team provides strategic, results-driven legal representation addressing each client's unique legal needs and objectives.

As US-ILC experienced rapid success, we were proud to partner with them on strategic growth initiatives for their team and human resources infrastructure. What stands out most is Founder and Managing Attorney Saman Movassaghi Gonzalez's unwavering commitment to creating a workplace where every individual feels truly valued and inspired by their work. It was a privilege to help design custom policies and procedures that perfectly mirror their unique, people-first company culture.

At Barbas Cremer, we've appreciated the opportunity to support U.S. Immigration Law Counsel as they continue making a meaningful impact for individuals, families, and employers navigating complex immigration matters.

Please join us in welcoming Simone Savino Brown to the firm! 🎉

Simone brings extensive experience in land use and real estate law, helping clients navigate rezonings, variances, permitting, licensing, and development approvals throughout the Tampa Bay region. Her background in both the public and private sectors, including time with the City of Tampa Attorney’s Office advising key city departments and the Variance Review Board, gives her a valuable “inside-out” perspective on development and municipal governance. 🏗️

Originally from New York, Simone now proudly calls South Tampa home with her husband, two daughters (with one more on the way), and French bulldog. When she’s not advocating for clients, she enjoys spending time with her family and serving as the family chauffeur to school, swimming, and dance.

Tierra Verde Marina Win! ⛵ The conversation was passionate, as it often is when projects have a lasting impact on a community.

After more than 6.5 hours of deliberation and a packed City Hall crowd, the City of St. Petersburg, Florida Development Review Commission approved the Tierra Verde Marina redevelopment proposal in a narrow 4–3 vote. A special shoutout to Nicole MacInnes, who led this complex and closely watched project for Greenleaf Capital with focus, patience, and a calm hand throughout a very long day at City Hall. 👏

The approved redevelopment will transform the existing marina into a true waterfront destination featuring a restaurant and third-floor bar, retail, and upgraded marina facilities designed to meet growing demand in Pinellas County. 📈

Congratulations to the full team:

Dan Coakley of PMG Affordable spent nearly two hours on Tampa Bay Developer this week walking through Robles Park and the North Downtown / Army Navy site — two of the most consequential affordable housing projects in Tampa right now. Our Managing Partner Jake Cremer is the land use counsel on both.

Worth a listen if you live, work, or build in Tampa.

Housing policy in focus. 🏠 📜 Managing Partner Jake Cremer moderated a panel at the Florida Policy Project's 2026 Florida Housing Solutions Summit, "Tallahassee Report: What Passed? What Didn’t? What is Next?”

Joining Jake were Representative Bill Conerly, Senator Stan McClain, and Avery Bernstein (Starter Homes legislation advocate) to break down what the latest legislative session means for housing across Florida. Thanks to Doug Wheeler (James Madison Institute) for helping us get prepared.

The Florida Housing Summit brings together policymakers, industry leaders, and housing experts to tackle Florida’s biggest housing challenges and chart a path forward. Our panel's top takeaways:
✔️Florida continues to be a national leader in pro-housing policy
✔️ Local governments are struggling to keep up with housing demand, so the state has taken the lead in housing solutions
✔️ The 2026 session started important policy discussions on starter homes, and we expect this legislation to return next session

Happy Administrative Professionals Week! 💼 Behind every successful client project and seamless day in the office, there’s a team making it happen. Our administrative professionals don’t just keep the wheels turning—they anticipate, problem-solve, and make sure nothing slips through the cracks.

A special thank you to Sarah Brooks and Randy Garcia for keeping our team focused and our clients supported. 👏

Protecting property rights requires understanding the land itself. 🍃

Land use isn't just about development—it’s about legacy. Whether we’re securing entitlements, navigating environmental compliance, or negotiating conservation easement deals Barbas Cremer is proud to represent clients who are preserving its resources for the next generation. We understand their perspective because we've been there.

Case in point: we represent a wetland mitigation bank in Putnam County owned by Managing Partner Jake Cremer’s family. Cedar Creek Mitigation Bank is restoring over 750 acres to clean water flowing into Cedar Creek and the St. Johns River. When complete, the land will reflect what Old Florida looked like 200 years ago!

We work at the intersection of policy and practice to help shape a better Florida. Learn more at www.barbascremer.com. We Know the Dirt—All of It. 🌱💼

We are so proud to celebrate the newest recipients of the Athena Society’s Young Women of Promise award! 🏆

Terin Barbas Cremer chaired this year’s program which recognizes high school juniors who aren’t just excelling in the classroom, but are already making a tangible impact in our community through leadership and service. These young women embody the spirit of Athena—strength, wisdom, and a commitment to lifting others up as they climb.

A special thank you to our fellow Athena member, U.S. Rep. Kathy Castor, for her continued support of these scholars and for providing incredible opportunities like congressional internships to help them reach their full potential. Join us in cheering on these future trailblazers! 👇
