The 13th Annual Santa Cruz Comedy Festival is happening October 12-17. 75 comedians taking over downtown.

Free shows at Abbott Square Market, Get Faded Barbershop, and Streetlight Records. Ticketed shows at venues throughout town. The main event Saturday October 17 at Kuumbwa and Woodhouse Blending and Brewing.

If you’re looking for a night out, a laugh with friends, or something different to do — this is it. Comedy lands better in person. You feel the energy. You’re actually present.

This is worth getting out

I’ve been doing this 25 years. I’ve watched people sell their first house, their family home, the place they thought they’d retire in.

The hard part isn’t the market or the paperwork. It’s that selling means letting go. It means admitting something’s changed — you’ve grown, your needs shifted, your life moved.

That’s not easy. And anyone who tells you it is doesn’t understand what you’re actually doing.

My job isn’t to push you out the door. It’s to help you see clearly so when you’re ready to go, you feel good about it. Protected. Not rushed. Not second-guessing.

If you’re sitting with that question, let’s talk about it. Really talk about it.

Three must-dos this weekend in our beautiful county of Santa Cruz!
October 10–11, 2026
One of the things I love most about living here is the incredible variety of experiences we have right in our own backyard. This weekend brings three local favorites worth checking out!
🚂 1. Thomas & Percy’s Halloween Party
October 10–11 | Roaring Camp, Felton
There is something magical about seeing little ones light up when they meet Thomas and Percy! Add a real train ride among the towering redwoods, pumpkins, and Halloween activities, and you’ve got a memory-making family adventure.
🎨 2. Santa Cruz County Open Studios Art Tour
October 10–11 | 11 AM–5 PM | North County
Celebrating its 41st year! Santa Cruz has such a wonderful creative community, and this free event gives you the chance to step inside working studios, meet local artists, and discover the stories behind their work.
🎆 3. Monte Foundation Fireworks Extravaganza
Sunday, October 11 | 7:30–9 PM | Capitola Village
A local tradition since 1996 and one of those events you simply don’t want to miss! Gather along Capitola Beach for an incredible fireworks display while celebrating a foundation that has spent decades giving back to our schools and community.
Three completely different experiences, all part of what makes Santa Cruz County such a special place to call home.
Which one are you heading to this weekend?
