Farmworkers are vital members of our community who often lack access to life-sustaining resources. To address this problem, the County plans to establish an agricultural resource center serving farmworkers in South County. This week, Representative Zoe Lofgren announced an $850,000 federal grant that will help fund the center.

The center will help farmworkers access programs and services as well as information about labor rights, education, housing, mental health, immigration and food security.

“When a flower grows wild, it can always survive. Wildflowers don't care where they grow.” It’s with profound sadness that we said goodbye to legend, Dolly Parton this week. However, her legacy will live on in our Santa Clara County Library District - SCCLD libraries forever. She touched so many lives with her Imagination Library around the country providing free books to young people so they could start their reading journeys early. She was definitely “everyday people.”

Get more information about the Imagination Library at https://sccld.org/ImaginationLibrary.
