Recently, I was asked why I don’t post more. Great question. The answer: I have been focused more on doing than posting! After 30+ years as a trial lawyer litigating health and privacy law cases in federal and California state courts, I shifted my practice from litigation to preventive advocacy, offering ethical and creative legal solutions in high-tech and healthcare. I also monitor trials throughout the U.S.. I couldn’t be happier or more engaged!
I am also a proud member of the Lexing Network, a global network of tech attorneys in 40+ countries. A glimpse into my recent work also includes the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law, where I represent the Center for International Legal Studies (CILS); and an engagement in the UIA São Paulo program where I presented on fake health news and AI; and, the American Bar Association, TIPS Fall Meeting in Los Angeles where I participated as past Chair and current Vice Chair of the Cybersecurity & Privacy Committee, and as a speaker on their Trial Masters’ program.
In the next couple of weeks, I am thrilled to be participating in the following programs:
• Lexing Network Mondial Conference, where I will present on the topic of emerging challenges in US AI litigation.
• UIA Congress, where I will present “From Legal Gridlock to Healthcare Liftoff: Powering Innovation with Data in the US” as well as a seminar on “Lessons Learned from US Football Players’ Litigation against the NFL.”
For fun, I recently authored an article entitled “Don’t fly me to Mars just yet: Ensuring the health and safety of space travelers”, which is pending publication in the peer-reviewed UIA Juriste journal.
