On August 5-6, we hosted our San Diego Regional and Imperial Regional Meetings, a monthly space to build and connect our leaders to our campaigns. We recapped our current efforts in our Meet Your Board of Supervisors campaign, and began prepping to kick off our Community Engagement Program as part of the upcoming midterm elections (stay tuned). It was beautiful to see our core leaders return and welcome many new faces!

Special shout out to Andrés, our racial and economic justice senior staff attorney, for attending and sharing key learnings from the recent U.S. Supreme Court decisions.

Automated license plate readers (ALPRs) create a picture of a person's day-to-day life, said ACLU-SDIC legal director, Frederick Carroll. Whether it’s picking up your kids from school, going to church or to recreational activities, or heading to the beach.

We call on the San Diego City Council and Mayor Todd Gloria to cancel all of San Diego's ALPR contracts and Get the Flock Out!

In San Diego County, the median listing price of homes in 2025 is more than 500% HIGHER compared to the average sale price of homes in 1975. Compare that to how much personal income has increased in our region – 49% in San Diego County and 5% in Imperial County.

Housing is a human right. Tell your elected officials to support AB1165, eliminate your city’s encampment ban and invest in Permanent Supportive Housing.
