Join us in welcoming our Summer 2026 Interns! ☀️

This summer, six talented interns will support Casa Cornelia’s mission across our legal and development programs—gaining hands-on experience while contributing to compassionate, client-centered work.

Our administrative interns will assist with the development team’s efforts and community outreach, while our law clerks will support our legal programs with a special focus on the Victims of Crime and Litigation Programs.

We are grateful to learn alongside students who are passionate about justice, service, and human rights, and who bring fresh energy to our work defending vulnerable communities.

This Pride Month, we honor the courage, resilience, and dignity of LGBTQ+ individuals seeking safety, justice, and the freedom to live authentically.

At Casa Cornelia Law Center, we believe every person deserves access to legal counsel, a fair hearing, and the protection of their human and civil rights—regardless of who they are or whom they love.

For many LGBTQ+ asylum seekers, the journey toward safety is marked by persecution, violence, and uncertainty. Through compassionate, pro bono legal services, we stand alongside those fleeing injustice—offering hope, guidance, and a path toward protection.

This month and every month, we reaffirm our commitment to justice with compassion and to defending the rights and dignity of all.

In honor of Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) Heritage Month, we celebrate the rich cultures, histories, and contributions of AANHPI communities across our nation and here in our local community.

At Casa Cornelia Law Center, we recognize the strength, resilience, and leadership of AANHPI individuals and families, including many immigrants and refugees who help shape and strengthen our communities every day.

This May, we honor the stories, traditions, and lasting impact of AANHPI communities while reaffirming our commitment to dignity, justice, and opportunity for all.

UC San Diego ’s hosted its Annual Law School Conference, featuring an Immigration Career Panel where we were grateful to participate alongside fellow attorneys, advocates, and students.

“How have you navigated your career and cultural identity throughout your lived experience?”

This closing question sparked a meaningful conversation between Anne Bautista, Legal Support & Strategy Director at Casa Cornelia Law Center, and Cynthia Grande, Founding Attorney of Grande Law Firm.

Both panelists reflected on how their lived experiences as children of immigrants and women of color in the legal profession continue to shape their commitment to justice, advocacy, and service to immigrant communities with dignity and compassion.

We appreciate UCSD for hosting this important discussion and for creating space to uplift diverse voices in the legal field.

On this Memorial Day, we honor and remember the men and women who gave their lives in service to this country in defense of our freedoms, our laws, and the principles of due process.

Their sacrifice calls on all of us to reflect on the meaning of service, dignity, and the protection of human life and liberty under the law. As we spend time with family and community this weekend, we also hold space for gratitude and remembrance—recognizing that the freedoms, rights, and safety many experience are made possible through profound loss.

At Casa Cornelia Law Center, we remain committed to advancing human dignity and due process for those seeking safety and justice. That commitment is rooted in the same values we honor today: protecting life, upholding rights, and standing with those in vulnerable circumstances.
