“Black drivers stopped for low-level traffic violations in San Diego were more than four times as likely as White drivers to be frisked and more than three times as likely to be subjected to force, according to an analysis presented by the city’s police oversight commission.”

San Diego civil rights lawyer Tim Scott gives an update on the fight for justice in Daisy’s case. As you probably know, Daisy — the beloved dog of the Serna family — was shot by a San Bernardino Sheriff’s Deputy during an illegal search.

As Tim explains, the County has refused to turn over their records and video unless it’s “on their own terms.” Accordingly, we’re filing a tort claim under California law. The County will likely continue to stonewall and if they deny the tort claim, we’ll file a federal civil rights lawsuit and demand full justice.
