BREAKING: Maricela Segura Appointed Judge by Governor Gavin Newsom

We are proud to congratulate Maricela Segura, a member of the Antitrust and Consumer Protection Section’s Executive Committee, on her appointment to serve as a Judge of the Los Angeles County Superior Court by Governor Gavin Newsom.

Governor Newsom announced Maricela’s appointment on August 7 as part of a series of judicial appointments across California.

Maricela brings an extraordinary record of legal and public-service experience to the bench. She has served in various roles with the Federal Trade Commission since 2008 and has been Regional Director of the FTC’s Los Angeles office since 2019. Her career also includes serving as an associate at Sidley Austin and as a law clerk to the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.

We are especially proud to celebrate this milestone as Maricela has been a valued leader and Executive Committee member of our Section.
