SacLegal Congratulates Former Board Member
Michael Rhoads on his 40 Under 40 Award!
This Thursday, July 28, at the Lavender Law Conference, former SacLegal Co-Chair Michael Rhoads will be honored as one of the 40 Best LGBTQ+ Lawyers Under 40! {{https://lgbtqbar.org/programs/awards/best-lgbtq-lawyers-under-40/}} SacLegal proudly congratulates Michael on this well deserved national recognition and thanks him for his prior service on the board and his ongoing service to the LGBTQ+ legal community.

Michael (he/him) served on the SacLegal board from 2018 to 2021, including as co-chair in 2021, and he led the effort to develop the National LGBTQ+ Bar's inaugural 2022 LGBTQ+ Professionals Survey. Michael is a chambers attorney for Chief Justice Cantil-Sakauye at the California Supreme Court. He has served as the chair of the Court’s Equity and Inclusion Committee, and has facilitated discussions through the Court’s LGBTQ+ Staff and Allies group. He was appointed to the California State Bar’s Council on Access and Fairness in 2020 and will serve as vice-chair for 2022-2023. He previously worked for Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr., the California Attorney General’s Office, and the San Diego County District Attorney’s Office. He is a moot court coach at UC Hastings College of the Law, and has been an adjunct professor at UC Hastings, the University of San Diego Law School, and McGeorge School of Law.
