I typically give my clients two pieces of advice:
It's your money. You worked your ass off for it. You do what you want with it. Your kids aren't entitled to anything. Do what makes you happy...which very well may include leaving an inheritance to your children.
Talk with your children about your plan. It can be uncomfortable, but it's so important. And if you don't, and they have questions, they won't be able to ask you when you're gone.
What do you think of this advice?
