What makes a law firm worth trusting with the things that matter most? For us, it starts with listening. Our attorneys work closely with clients on the legal matters that shape their personal and professional lives, from business planning and real estate to estate planning and litigation. We take that responsibility seriously, and we believe the way we show up for our clients reflects who we are as a firm.

We are looking forward to having Natalie join us next year!

When Natalie Jump ’26 came to Maine Law, she thought her future was firmly rooted in environmental policy. But through experiences like the Rural Practice Clinic in Fort Kent, work with the Maine Law Review, and courtroom advocacy opportunities, she discovered a much broader vision of what it means to practice law.

“You get this sense that the law is known and predictable, but people are not,” Jump said. “That’s where the complexity of practicing lies.” After graduation, Jump will clerk at the Kennebec County Superior Court before joining Perkins Thompson as an associate.

Our team recently joined the Lewiston Public Library's Wild West Murder Mystery, a fundraiser benefiting the READy to Grow Campaign to renovate the children's department. The evening brought together community members for dinner, raffle prizes and a team competition to solve a fictional Western themed murder. Supporting initiatives that strengthen local institutions like our public libraries is one of the ways we stay connected to the people and places we call home.

Access disputes are common in Maine's coastal communities, where properties have changed hands for generations and rights to roads, paths, and rights-of-way aren't always clearly documented. Our latest article explains how easement rights can exist even when a deed is silent on the matter, including rights acquired through long-term use, implied access based on recorded plans, and necessity when a property would otherwise be landlocked.

If you have questions about accessing your property or a potential easement claim, we're glad to help.
