● 180 days before expiration: file your renewal.

A federal court ruled today that the $100,000 fee on H-1B visa applications is unlawful.

The fee, imposed last September, was struck down by U.S. District Judge Leo Sorokin in Massachusetts. The court found that imposing a tax of this nature requires Congressional authority, which was never granted.

USCIS issued a new policy memo yesterday on green card applications inside the U.S.
The law has not changed. But the way officers are now instructed to evaluate these cases has.

Adjustment of status, the process that allows eligible individuals to apply for a green card without leaving the country, is now officially characterized as extraordinary relief.

Approval requires demonstrating stronger equities than before.
What counts as extraordinary is not defined. We are watching closely.

The U.S. government is now waiving visa bond requirements for certain FIFA World Cup 2026 travelers.

The bond amount was up to $15,000. And the update applies to qualifying nationals from participating countries.

The Department of State updated its visa bond pilot program to exempt:

→ Athletes and official team members
→ Certain ticket holders who meet program requirements

The waiver does not change the visa screening process.

Every application is still reviewed individually.
Consular officers continue conducting rigorous vetting before issuing any visa.
