Women's Law Project

Women's Law Project WLP is a public interest legal org devoted to advancing & defending the rights of women & LGBTQ+ people.

Trailblazing since 1974, the Women’s Law Project is a non-profit public interest legal organization devoted to advancing and defending the rights of women, girls and LBGTQ+ people in PA & beyond. We are a leading voice in the fight for equitable access to reproductive healthcare and abortion, improving institutional response to all forms of violence against women, challenging s*x & gender discrim

ination, and advocating for workplace equality and economic justice. We’re proud to be a state-based organization with a significant track record of national influence, and an extensive track record of legal precedents and policy reforms that advance the rights of women and their families—particularly those with few resources and little political power.

Reproductive freedom is critical to democracy! Thank you for having us.

We had a great time at our first Funders' Committee For Civic Participation convening earlier this month. Executive Director Farrah Parkes was part of the panel "From Organizing to Civic Participation: Funding the Win for Immigrant Justice" alongside fellow panelists from VietLead, Pennsylvania Immigration Coalition, and New Breath Foundation.

She also had the honor of introducing Sue Frietsche, Executive Director of grantee Women's Law Project for a Community Talk.

Thanks to the FCCP staff and planning committee for a great conference!

The appeals sets up another clash in the Pennsylvania Supreme Court over the right to reproductive autonomy, and the constitutionality of a ban on public funding for abortion through Medicaid.
