On March 16, 2023, we hosted a ceremony in honor of the The Florida Bar's Path to Unity Program created by the Committee on Diversity and Inclusion.

The CDI "identified five Florida lawyers who inspired by example, and made significant, lasting contributions to changing historic misperceptions. They paved the path for those who came afterwards. We chose one lawyer from each of the five main categories stated in the CDI's Mission Statement: Race, Gender, Ethnicity, Sexual Orientation, and Disabilities. They are: James Weldon Johnson, the first Black lawyer to gain admission to the Florida Bar, and author of the words to 'Lift Every Voice and Sing', the national anthem to millions of Black Americans; Anna Brenner Meyers, the founder and first President of the Florida Association for Women Lawyers; Hon. Mario Goderich, the founder and the first President of the Cuban American Bar Association; Larry D. Smith, a tireless advocate for the LGBTQ community and the first openly gay member to serve on the Supreme Court Commission of Florida; and, James Kracht, a blind but, fierce advocate for blind lawyers in Florida."
