✨ Attorney Spotlight: Madeline Chmelir ✨

We’re excited to spotlight Madeline Chmelir, an Associate Attorney in ZKS’s Personal Injury Defense practice group. Madeline represents businesses in personal injury and premises liability matters, where her work includes legal research, drafting, case strategy, and preparation for court proceedings.

Madeline’s interest in the law took shape through her involvement with the Guardian Ad Litem program, where she advocated for children in the court system. That early courtroom experience, combined with her passion for writing and the influence of her father’s legal career, ultimately inspired her to pursue the profession herself.

A graduate of the University of Florida and Stetson University College of Law, Madeline brought experience across personal injury, employment, and family law to ZKS. She enjoys the variety that comes with litigation and the opportunity to continually learn while helping clients navigate each new challenge.

When she’s not practicing law, Madeline enjoys Pilates, concerts, true crime podcasts, YA fiction, and knitting. A self-proclaimed “Disney Adult,” she can also frequently be found enjoying Orlando’s theme parks or catching up on her favorite reality TV shows.

ZKS is always happy to host the monthly "Women of Leadership in Finance" (WOLF) meetings here at the office.

Every month, WOLF brings together bright and influential women to build relationships, exchange ideas, and learn from one another. Thanks to the involvement of our own Sarah Pape, a ZKS shareholder and active WOLF member, we're proud to support WOLF by hosting its monthly meetings and providing a space for these valuable conversations and connections.

June's meeting was extra special, featuring an engaging presentation from Tess Honan, business executive and sommelier, who led attendees through a light, conversational wine tasting experience highlighting women-led wineries and thoughtfully selected seasonal pairings. Her presentation blended education, storytelling, and wine appreciation, making for a fun and interactive experience.

The meeting also included WOLF's monthly member spotlight featuring Basil Cornell, followed by introductions from attendees, who shared more about their businesses and the types of referrals that best support their work. These conversations are what make WOLF such a valuable network for women in finance.

Thank you to Elizabeth Drivas McEnroe, Angela Verdin, Basil Cornell, and Tess Honan for making the June meeting such a success. We look forward to hosting many more WOLF gatherings!

Many of our attorneys, staff, and their families came together at Aloma Bowl for a fun June evening outside the office. With 12 lanes full, good food, and great company, it was a wonderful opportunity to connect and spend time with one another!

Thank you to everyone who joined us for Family Bowling Night this summer. We’re already looking forward to the next one!

Last Friday, we gathered to celebrate Jackson Amos and Bria Ryan as they wrapped up their time with ZKS as part of our 2026 Summer Associate Program! 🎉

Throughout the summer, Jackson and Bria gained hands-on experience across the firm, built relationships with our attorneys and staff, and became a wonderful part of the ZKS community. The social hour gave everyone a chance to step away from the workday, spend some time together, and celebrate a summer well spent.

We’ve truly enjoyed having Jackson and Bria with us and appreciate all they brought to the firm during their time here. We wish them both continued success as they head back to law school and take the next steps toward their legal careers!

At Zimmerman Kiser Sutcliffe, we believe that supporting our community extends beyond the office. Our team had the opportunity this summer to volunteer with The Daily Bread, helping serve meals to individuals and families in Central Florida experiencing food insecurity.

Giving back is an important part of who we are, and we're grateful for organizations like The Daily Bread that provide nourishing meals and compassionate support to hundreds of people every day. Thank you to everyone who volunteered and helped make a difference in our community. We look forward to continuing to support initiatives that strengthen the places we live and work.
