One of the most common mistakes in estate planning is simply waiting too long.

It’s easy to think there will always be more time to get things in order. But having a will or trust in place is one of the most important ways to protect your family and make things easier for them in the future.

Taking a small step today can make a big difference later.

Many Florida homeowners assume their house will automatically pass to their family.

But depending on how your property is structured, your home may still go through probate — even if you have a will.

There are several ways people plan their homestead, including:

• Last Will & Testament
• Revocable Living Trust
• Lady Bird Deed (Enhanced Life Estate Deed)
• Ownership Planning (how your home is titled)

Each option works differently and depends on your specific situation.

Quick question for Florida homeowners:

Do you know which category your home falls under?

1️⃣ Will
2️⃣ Trust
3️⃣ Lady Bird Deed
4️⃣ Ownership planning
5️⃣ Not sure

Comment below or send a message if you'd like to talk about the best option for your home.

Most people assume their family will “figure things out.”

But without a proper estate plan, the court may decide:

• Who handles your estate
• How your assets are distributed
• How long your family waits to receive anything

This can lead to delays, legal costs, and unnecessary stress for the people you love most.

A simple estate plan can ensure your wishes are clear and your family is protected.
