Our Business Financial Services team plays a critical role across HGMC’s diverse portfolio, delivering accurate and timely budgeting, accounts receivable, receivership, and commercial and mixed asset lease administration support. They’re the steady force behind the numbers, keeping our operations organized, compliant, and on track.

Their precision behind the scenes makes everything in front of it possible.

We also want to recognize Alex Vaught, who has been promoted to the IT department as HGMC's Data & Analytics – AI Solutions Lead. Alex will continue supporting HGMC with budgets this year as he steps into this new chapter, a great example of the kind of growth that happens across this organization.

Another class is underway at our Maintenance Technician Apprenticeship Program (MTAP)! 🛠️

A new group of apprentices just kicked off at our training facility in Ohio. Over the next 10 weeks, they'll build hands-on skills and the foundation for a career in multifamily maintenance.

A big thank you to our partners HD Supply, Maintenance Supply Solutions, and Redi Carpet for donating tool sets to our apprentices. Having the right tools from day one makes all the difference.

This group is just getting started. 🚀

We're proud to recognize Charles Lota on his promotion to Managing Director & Chief Accounting Officer.

Charles has been a cornerstone of HGMC’s accounting leadership since joining in June 2012 as Director of Audit and Financial Reporting. Over the years, he has expanded his impact across the organization and now leads a team of more than 40 professionals spanning property accounting, financial reporting, corporate accounting, treasury, and accounting operations.

A UVA graduate with both CPA and CGMA designations, Charles brings deep technical expertise and a proven ability to build the infrastructure that supports sustained growth across a complex portfolio.

Outside of work, Charles is a proud husband and father of three. He and his wife Karen will celebrate 17 years of marriage this August.

Please join us in congratulating Charles on this well-earned promotion.
