Robert Allen Law is pleased to welcome Brook Sommerville to our litigation team.
Monday, August 24 Brook earned her Juris Doctor from Stetson University College of Law in 2022 and her B.S. in Entrepreneurship, 𝑚𝑎𝑔𝑛𝑎 𝑐𝑢𝑚 𝑙𝑎𝑢𝑑𝑒, from the University of Tampa. Before joining the firm, she practiced at a maritime litigation firm, where she practiced admiralty and maritime law representing vessel owners, marinas, and commercial towing companies.

Originally from Tampa, Florida, Brook comes from a family with multi-generational roots in the marine industry. She has spent her life on the water, boating throughout Florida and the Bahamas. Her work ethic and genuine passion for boating make her well suited to her areas of practice.

The Cannes Yachting Festival is less than one month away, kicking off another season of boat shows across Europe.

The Robert Allen Law team will be in Cannes once again, meeting with clients, colleagues, and professionals from across the yachting industry.

We’re looking forward to reconnecting throughout the week, including at the second Mercy Ships Yachting Day Gala, our traditional Thursday evening Wine Reception at Wines & Spirits 1962, and the IYBA Hospitality Suite where our team will be available throughout the show.

The international yachting legal world gathered in Tuscany for the 2026 Benetti Legal Symposium.

Representing Robert Allen Law, Founder Bob Allen, President and Senior Partner Umberto Bonavita, and Senior Partner Claudia Casalis took part in a series of discussions and networking sessions in Florence, followed by visits and meetings at Benetti’s Viareggio shipyard.
The symposium provided an excellent environment to exchange perspectives on current legal, operational and business matters affecting the yachting sector, while strengthening relationships across the industry.

Our thanks to Benetti and the entire team for the outstanding organization and hospitality.
