FLAT FEES AND FREE CONSULTATIONS AT LAW OFFICES OF SEAN R. WHITWORTH
Our Family Law Firm is located in Marietta Georgia and we have been a part of the local community for over a decade. Our guiding principles are strong advocacy without adding to the devastation that is inherent in domestic issues. Our goal is to protect clients from this devastation as much as possible and allow them to begin th

eir new lifeโ€™s while ensuring that they receive the strongest representation possible. We strive to provide this representation to all of Atlanta. Family Law and domestic relations is a broad category of law dealing with a multitude of issues and litigation. This does include divorce; however, it also includes issues before and after divorce and many that are not the result of divorce. These issues may include a prenuptial or post-nuptial agreement for individuals concerned with protecting their assets during a possible divorce; issues of contempt to enforce orders of the court not being followed by one or both of the parties; modifications of orders dealing with custody visitation and/or support both child support and spousal alimony; issues of paternity and custody necessary to determine the biological parent and the support obligations that are inherent in this action; adoptions whether consensual or not, which can be brought by a relative; guardianships and power of attorneys, necessary for temporary arrangements; protective orders necessary as the result of domestic violence; juvenile matters of dependency and deprivation, which can be private actions or actions initiated by the state through the Department of Family and Children Services (DFCS); and legitimation actions with all of the issues of visitation, custody and support necessary for preserving the legal rights of fathers. Family Law and domestic relations are the most intimate, emotional and demanding practice of law in all legal specialties. There is no other field of law that requires such a broad range of expertise on multiple issues that so dramatically affect a client on a personal level. This is not litigation over money owed, contracts breached or damage suffered as the result of an accident, this is litigation to end a marriage, decide the fate of children and assist in the financial well-being of all parties in the future. This is personal law and law that has an immediate and direct effect on people and childrenโ€™s lives. It is essential that when hiring a family law attorney, you find someone who has the knowledge and experience to handle all of the issues above and make those issues a reality in the courtroom. We offer the following services:
Divorce
Legitimation and Paternity
Visitation and Child Custody
Alimony and Child Support
Contempt
Modifications of Divorce Decrees
Temporary Restraining Orders
Adoption Law

Many divorce law and family law offices will promise strong advocacy and caring representation but not many law offices will commit to representing you for a fixed flat rateโ€“ this office will. For years this office has represented clients in all of the Metro Atlanta counties and with offices in Marietta and Midtown Atlanta, we have regularly represented clients in Cobb, Cherokee, Paulding, Fulton, Dekalb, Gwinnett, Clayton, Forsyth, Henry, and Bartow counties. And, regardless of what court we go to one thing remains constant, our clients have never been forced into bankruptcy to pay for the representation they need. An experienced family law attorney understands your particular situation and more importantly has a strong idea of the eventual outcome and how to get there. As a result, an attorney with this knowledge can work with a budget that is realistic and not one that promotes endless litigation and destructive costs. Your domestic matter, whether it be a divorce, child support or a custody modification dispute does not have to leave you with the extra burden of financial ruin. We offer the Flat Fee System for all services. Learn about the fields of law in which we specialize.

What If My Ex Wonโ€™t Follow The Parenting Plan?

One of the most common frustrations parents face after divorce is when the parenting plan stops being followed consistently.

Maybe exchanges happen late. Maybe schedules are changed without notice. Maybe one parent repeatedly ignores parts of the agreement.

When these situations happen repeatedly, they can create stress for both parents and children.

Many parents throughout Marietta and Cobb County wonder what options they have when a parenting plan is no longer working the way it was intended.

At The Law Offices of Sean R. Whitworth, we help families navigate parenting time disputes, custody concerns, and post-divorce issues with a practical approach focused on finding solutions.

๐Ÿ‘จโ€โš–๏ธ In some circumstances, modifications may be available, but it is important to understand what factors courts consider before making assumptions about what can or cannot be changed.

Ignoring the process does not make the case disappear.

A lot of people stop answering calls, avoid paperwork, or hope things will somehow work themselves out. But divorce and custody matters are still civil litigation, and the court can continue moving forward whether someone participates or not.

Missing deadlines, ignoring a summons, or failing to respond can create serious consequences later, especially when major decisions are being made about finances, custody, or parenting time.

At The Law Offices of Sean R. Whitworth, we regularly work with clients throughout Marietta and Cobb County who are trying to understand what steps matter early in the process and what mistakes can become much harder to fix later.

If youโ€™ve been served or are dealing with an ongoing family law matter, call 770-415-8500 to schedule a consultation.
