It began for us back in 2000 when Jeff started a fence construction business with an old friend. The business took off as the Atlanta real estate market heated up. By the mid-2000s he had all the business he could handle. It seemed like every home buyer in Atlanta wanted a fence. As a result, he met several realtors and real estate investors doing quite well. It was only a matter of time before we
caught the real estate investment "bug". Jeff got licensed to sell real estate in 2006 to get us access to local real estate information. So with license in hand, we went out and bought an investment house to flip. We were officially part-time real estate investors. Well, it took longer to renovate than expected. It cost more than we budgeted. And it was more work than we imagined. Nothing went as planned. We did manage to make a little bit of money, but thank goodness we had our day jobs! Then, the real estate bubble burst in 2008 and the economy crashed! Almost overnight, the fence business disappeared. Fortunately, Rosa still had her job, but that income alone couldn't support our lifestyle. We had two mortgages, private school tuition, and car payments to make. The one aspect of the flip project we enjoyed the most was marketing and selling the house. We met a young couple looking for their first home. It was quite fulfilling to help them. They didn't have a real estate agent. So, we were able to learn the buy-side and sell-side of a transaction simultaneously on our first deal. So, with Jeff's fence business on life support, he jumped into real estate sales full-time. Mind you this was a time when experienced agents were leaving the business in masses. Scary times for sure! We can't say it was easy. Jeff even got a third job at night cleaning offices. But things started to click when Jeff learned a system to find and help home sellers. He was able to quit the night job. It actually started feeling like we had a business again. Fast forward to today. We are now a full-time husband and wife real estate team. Rosa was able to quit her corporate job and spend more time with our kids. She started helping Jeff as an assistant and eventually got her real estate license in 2017. Together we are able to help more people each year. We have modified that original sales system and now offer sellers and buyers a unique way to sell and buy. A sales system that guarantees results. Real estate has been sold the same way for decades and we've come up with a better way. We’ve built a business together that is truly customer-focused. More than that, we understand the frustrations of outgrowing a home. We've experienced it ourselves. It is no fun falling out of love with your home. We are passionate about helping families upsize their homes and lifestyles. This has been a wonderful journey.
