Justice doesn't stop at the county line. ⚖️

Yesterday, attorney Brian Fields and interns Ava Gregory-Mabrey and Colby Lindeman traveled to Nelson County Circuit Court for a hearing. That's what Legal Aid does. We show up wherever Kentuckians need us.

Ava and Colby are getting a front-row seat to real legal advocacy: the preparation, the courthouse steps, and the people whose lives depend on what happens inside. Brian has been leading the way.

We serve 15 Kentucky counties, including Nelson County, because justice doesn't have a zip code.

If you or someone you know needs civil legal help, we're here.

You’re invited to join us for Books & Breakfast!

On Thursday, May 7, we’ll gather at Legal Aid Society for a meaningful conversation about this month’s book and how its themes connect to poverty, access to justice, and the realities facing our community.

We’re especially excited to welcome Gretchen Hunt, Director of Metro Louisville Office for Women, as our guest moderator. With more than two decades of advocacy for women and survivors of gender-based violence, Gretchen brings powerful insight and perspective to the discussion.

This is a space to connect, reflect, and explore how stories can deepen understanding and inspire action.

Thursday, May 7
8:30 – 10:00 AM
Legal Aid Society, 416 W. Muhammad Ali Blvd., Ste. 300

The countdown to the Kentucky Derby is on, with the Derby Festival kicking off this weekend. As excitement builds across Kentucky, Legal Aid was busy yesterday hosting another expungement clinic - helping Kentuckians step into a new season of life with a fresh start.

This Derby season, we invite you to support that work by joining our Off to the Races Raffle. For $100, you’ll have a chance at a true Derby experience - Grandstand Box seats to the 2027 Kentucky Derby.

Thanks to Goodwill Kentucky for another great clinic, our volunteer attorneys including the attorneys with Constellation, and the good folks of Simpson Thacher and Louisville Bar Foundation for the support of our programming.
