We were honored to participate in the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association’s 53rd Annual Bench-Bar & Boardroom Conference this April. Lauren Dollar and John Carroll took the stage for a panel discussion on 'Making Every Seat Count: Integrating Young Lawyers into Trial Strategy'—a presentation developed alongside Austin Osborn, who built much of the groundwork before being called into trial.

Strong trial work depends not only on preparation and experience, but also on investing in the next generation of advocates. Conversations like these help create opportunities for young lawyers to develop meaningful courtroom experience and contribute as valuable members of the trial team.

On April 6th, our firm, alongside Michael Blanton, represented our client, A.S., before the Kansas Supreme Court in the ongoing fight for survivors of s*xual abuse—ensuring her voice is heard and her case continues forward.

This case is about more than one survivor. It centers on a critical legal question: whether changes to the statute of limitations can be applied retroactively to cases that were already timely filed. At stake is whether survivors like A.S. will be allowed to pursue their claims—or have the door to justice closed after the fact. The Court’s decision is now pending.

During Sexual Assault Awareness Month, we are reminded that accountability should not expire simply because time has passed. Survivors deserve a fair opportunity to be heard.
We are proud to stand with survivors like A.S. and remain committed to advocating for laws that prioritize justice, access, and accountability.

We were honored to represent an individual who suffered severe injuries in a motor vehicle collision. After extensive work to understand the full impact of the injuries—both immediate and long-term—Josh Becker and JJ Burns secured an $8 million settlement on the client’s behalf. This settlement holds the responsible party accountable, ensures our client receives proper resources and care in the future, and ultimately will lead to company reform and safer roads.

After the insurance carrier for the at-fault driver failed to offer its minimum coverage of $25,000 pre-suit, through careful investigation, meticulous case preparation, and skillful presentation, Josh Becker and Tom Hershewe secured a $7.5 million settlement on our client’s behalf.

Cases like this require looking beyond surface-level limitations and fully evaluating every available avenue of recovery. Most importantly, they require a commitment to the person behind the case.

Attorneys Tim and Lauren Dollar recently secured a $20 million verdict for the family of 23-year-old Sevie Davison, who was tragically killed when an impaired driver crossed the center line and struck her vehicle head-on. The defense offered only $25,000 before suit was filed, a Jasper County jury delivered justice with $15 million in compensatory damages and $5 million in punitive damages for the driver’s aggravated misconduct.
