Congratulations to Gerry Giurato on securing another complete defense victory for a national brokerage firm client following a two-day final hearing. The panel found that the claimant failed to establish that the brokerage account was subject to the Electronic Funds Transfer Act (15 U.S.C. § 1693) and denied all claims in full. With four complete defense victories in the past two months for our brokerage firm clients, we’re proud to continue delivering strong results through diligent representation.

The YLD Board of Governors serves as the governing body of the Young Lawyers Division, working to support and advance Florida attorneys who are under 36 or within their first five years of practice. The Board oversees programming, community outreach, and professional development initiatives that help shape the next generation of Florida's legal community.

The Murphy & Anderson team has a few holiday traditions we look forward to every year. Each January, we head to the Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Island for our annual firm retreat. It gives us a chance us to connect outside the office, enjoy a great group dinner, and reflect on the year behind us while looking ahead to what’s next. This year, we added pickleball to the agenda—and we’re happy to report there was only one injury.

Congratulations to Jordan Janoski and Catherine Licandro on their recent full defense verdict following a trial in St. John’s County. The result included vindication of our client’s complete ownership of his limited liability company, and a denial of the plaintiff’s competing claims that he held an interest in the enterprise (a claim valued over $1.5 million). A great result for our client!

ABOTA dedicates itself to the preservation and promotion of the Seventh Amendment, which guarantees the right to civil jury trials. Membership is extended exclusively to those who exemplify exceptional trial skills, integrity, civility, and professionalism, and have tried a minimum of 10 civil jury trials to conclusion.
