Yesterday, Ansbacher Law had the privilege of hosting members of the Vesta Property Services team at our Jacksonville office for a training titled "Understanding Deeds and Estates for HOA Ownership," presented by our Managing Shareholder, attorney Zach Roth.

We are always grateful for opportunities to connect with community association managers and help them stay informed about the topics and issues affecting their communities. Zach’s presentation provided valuable insight into what to look for when reviewing deeds for HOA purposes, addressing key questions managers often face: Who owns the property? What interest do they hold? Who should be listed as the owner and association member?

Thank you to the wonderful Vesta Property Services team for being such engaged and enthusiastic participants! We also extend a special thank you to Kristen Sheldon and Deirdre Nichols for helping coordinate another successful educational presentation.

Ansbacher Law is seeking an Attorney to join our Community Association practice team in one of our offices in Miami-Dade, Orlando (Heathrow), Jacksonville, or St. Augustine.

This role will focus on representing condominium and homeowners’ associations in both civil litigation and general counsel matters, with opportunities to take on meaningful responsibility, work directly with clients, and develop your skills alongside experienced, board-certified attorneys.

What you’ll do:
· Represent association clients in both civil litigation and general counsel matters
· Manage cases from pre-suit investigation through resolution
· Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, and other litigation documents
· Assist with covenant enforcement
· Advise clients as to board governance
· Conduct legal research and prepare legal analysis
· Attend board meetings, depositions, mediations, hearings, and other proceedings
· Communicate directly with clients and collaborate on case strategy

What we’re looking for:
· Active membership in good standing with The Florida Bar
· Strong research, writing, analytical, and communication skills
· Prior civil litigation experience preferred, but not required
· Ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines independently
· Community association, real estate, or construction law experience is a plus

Ansbacher Law was excited to participate in the Community Associations Institute - Southeast Florida Chapter's Homeowner Leader & CAM Workshop and Expo! Along with exhibiting, attorney Emily Dominguez presented the annual Legal Update, covering recent Florida laws affecting community associations, including CAM licensing and statutory duties, association records, financial reporting, insurance requirements, and meeting procedures.

We extend a heartfelt thank you to CAI Southeast Florida and everyone who helped make this such a valuable educational event!

Hurricane Isaias: What Florida Community Associations Need to Know

Following the state of emergency declared by Governor DeSantis, condominium and homeowners’ associations in the affected Florida counties have access to special emergency powers to help address storm-related damage and protect residents.

These powers may include holding meetings with reduced notice requirements, arranging emergency repairs, mitigating property damage, levying special assessments, and borrowing funds without an owner vote, subject to applicable legal requirements.

Associations should also be aware of Florida’s specific deadlines for filing weather-related property insurance claims.

Please join Ansbacher Law in celebrating one of our newest associate attorneys, William Hoffman!

Will was sworn in by the Honorable Judge Jordan Pratt at the Florida Sixth District Court of Appeal after successfully passing the 2026 Florida Bar Examination.

A graduate of the University of Florida Levin College of Law, Will previously joined Ansbacher Law as a law clerk in summer 2025, gaining valuable experience supporting our litigation practice. Before that, he gained experience in civil and complex commercial litigation.

As an associate attorney, Will splits his time between our Coral Gables and Orlando offices, where he focuses his practice on construction defect matters, including reviewing contract documents, preparing and analyzing defect notices, drafting motions, coordinating with experts, supporting defect investigations, and assisting with trial preparation.
