Matt joins our Irvine office, focusing his practice on asbestos and toxic tort matters. He approaches litigation with determination, empathy, and integrity, working closely with clients to build trust and develop practical solutions to complex legal challenges.

As a graduate of UC San Diego and Chapman University Fowler School of Law, Matt brings a strong connection to the Southern California community. He serves as a director and in-house counsel for Southern Sea Dragon and Lion Dance and regularly performs at cultural events throughout the region. Conversational in Cantonese and Spanish and currently improving his Vietnamese, Matt carries an appreciation for different cultures and perspectives into his legal practice.

Join us in welcoming our newest Partner, Barbara Adams!

Barbara joins our San Francisco office with more than four decades of experience representing manufacturers, retailers, contractors, and businesses in complex, high-exposure litigation. She focuses her practice on asbestos, toxic tort, and Proposition 65 matters, serving companies of all sizes in claims involving consumer goods and foods.

With extensive trial experience, Barbara has selected juries in hundreds of cases and tried approximately 50 matters to verdict. She brings an analytical and thoughtful approach to complex scientific, technical, and evidentiary issues, with a particular interest in developing persuasive arguments, challenging opposing experts, and helping juries and judges understand novel issues.

Partner Karen Porter traveled to Lisbon, Portugal for the Federation of Defense & Corporate Counsel (FDCC) annual meeting "Mosaic of Memories," joining more than 580 members.

The conference offered a full week of opportunities to connect with colleagues from across the defense counsel community. The meeting featured a plenary session, committee meetings, and educational programming covering timely issues facing the legal profession.

Following the meeting, Karen was appointed as a Vice Chair of the FDCC Membership & Development Committee for the 2026–2027 term. In this role, she will help advance initiatives focused on engaging new members, enhancing programming, and strengthening the value and long-term impact of the FDCC community.

Our California employees and their families recently gathered at Newport Dunes for Walsworth's Summer Beach Event. With team members traveling from across the state, we connected and enjoyed time together away from the office.

We'd like to thank Kayla Long, Noor Kaur, and Alex Mazaheri for making the most of every opportunity this summer. Throughout the summer, they embraced new challenges, gained valuable hands-on experience, and built strong connections across the firm.
