Last week, Walsworth attorneys, Soniya Khemlani and Kati Smith, attended the 6th Annual Women of California Minority Counsel Program (CMCP) Summit at the Presidio in San Francisco. Set against the backdrop of the Golden Gate Bridge, the program brought together attorneys from across California to focus on advancing opportunity, strengthening connections, and building pathways to leadership.
Across the discussions, a consistent theme emerged: the importance of using one’s voice and the critical role sponsorship plays in driving meaningful advancement. Panelists shared practical insights on their career growth and how intentional relationship building, increased visibility, and active engagement with networks creates access to stretch opportunities and leadership roles.
Beyond the panels, the experience highlighted the strength of the community CMCP cultivates. Soniya and Kati had the opportunity to connect with fellow attendees of the Men of CMCP program, reinforcing the value of shared perspective, authentic connection, and continued support across the profession.
We are proud to support and participate in programs like CMCP and look forward to continuing to engage with and contribute to communities that are shaping the future of the legal profession.
