Natalia Reyes is the Lead Program Coordinator for HVL's Naturalization program. In this capacity, she interacts with all applicants who are seeking assistance with Naturalization, Green Card renewals, Certificates of Citizenship, and all related advice and counsel.

Since its inception in 2023, HVL's Naturalization program has assisted nearly 800 applicants with matters related to Naturalization and Citizenship.

Natalia works tirelessly to ensure that both clients and pro bono attorneys have what they need to better understand the Naturalization process every step of the way. In celebration of Citizenship Day, Natalia took a moment to express her gratitude for the volunteers who make the path to citizenship possible for our clients.

We are proud to serve one of the most diverse cities in the country, in communities that continue to shape our culture. August marked the end of HVL's very first Summer of Service. Thank you to all of our dedicated volunteers who took a case or gave advice at a clinic during August. Making time for service can be difficult, especially during the summer months, but these amazing volunteer attorneys made it happen.

Staff was busy last week representing HVL at the SBOT annual Pro Bono Coordinator’s Retreat and Poverty Law Conference. PBCR and PLC give legal aid organizations and legal professionals invested in the advancement of access to justice a forum for idea and lesson sharing in a positive and collaborative environment.

Huge thank you the SBOT and especially to Ana Prado for going above and beyond to bring this event to life each year.

Yesterday HVL welcomed interns and public interest attorneys to join us to learn about nonprofit advocacy and other public interest legal options. Our panelists Carlos Calderon, Dalia Castillo-Granados, Cicely Reid, and Iris Onassis shared their journeys, wisdom, and practical advice with attendees.
