Jackie visited her sister in the U.S. in 2001. After seeing how her sister struggled to care for her kids while holding down a nursing job, Jackie decided to stay and help. After six months, however, Jackie fell out of status. A few months later, her father arrived in the U.S. as an immigrant and quickly petitioned her. While waiting for her petition, Jackie kept herself informed by watching “Citizen Pinoy" on TFC.

The U.S. Department of State (DOS) recently announced it will revoke the U.S. passports of any person owing more than $2,500 in child support. If the person happens to be outside the U.S., they would not be able to use that passport to return to the U.S. This is because once a passport is revoked, it may no longer be used for travel.
