⚠️ WARNING: Be Careful Before Signing a UM Waiver With Your Insurance Company!

When you purchase or renew auto insurance, you may be asked to sign a UM (Uninsured Motorist) waiver. Before you sign it, make sure you understand exactly what you are giving up.

Some clients don’t even notice they are signing it because of these electronic documents now days.

BE AWARE to check for UM coverage!!!!

Why does UM coverage matter?

If you are involved in a hit-and-run accident, or you are hit by a driver who is uninsured, you may need your own UM coverage to protect you.

Uninsured means a teenager who has been excluded from their policy or a hit and run driver.

It also means you may think you have full coverage but not UM so you might have comprehensive insurance or collision but not un-insured motorist coverage. There is a huge difference…

If you have waived your UM coverage, your insurance company may not pay your claim for:

🚫 Your personal injuries
🚫 Your medical expenses and other injury-related losses
🚫 Damage to your vehicle

In other words, you could be injured in an accident that was not your fault, and if the at-fault driver cannot be identified, has no insurance, or is excluded from coverage, you may have no UM protection available through your own policy if you previously waived it.

The important part: Don’t assume that because you have auto insurance, you automatically have UM protection.

📌 Read your insurance contract carefully. Ask questions. Know what you are waiving before you sign.

A signature on an insurance document can have serious consequences after an accident.

Protect yourself before an accident happens — not after.

Call our offices if you would like a FREE review of your insurance policy before it is too late….. ⏰ 🚨 ‼️
