Many people worry that filing for bankruptcy means everyone will know—but that isn’t the case. Bankruptcy is technically public record, but it’s not something most people ever search for or come across. It usually stays private unless you choose to share it. The days when bankruptcies were published on a page of your local printed newspaper are long gone.

With back-to-school season right around the corner—and August marking National Traffic Awareness Month—we wanted to share a few timely reminders to help keep our roads safe.

As kids return to class, traffic patterns shift almost overnight. A little extra awareness from all of us can go a long way toward preventing accidents and protecting the most vulnerable people on the road.

We are sure everyone is aware that with the advent of e-bikes and e-scooters these traffic patterns have changed and sped up in ways we have not had to anticipate in the past. Make sure your children understand the dangers. If you are not yet aware, e-bikes and e-scooters are now being produced which allow for speed limits to be set by parents. Let's all be extra vigilant while we navigate this future and keep all our children safe.

Swipe through for practical safety tips for both drivers and parents as the school year approaches.

At Winter Law Group, we’re committed to supporting a safer community. If you or someone you know ever has questions after a traffic collision or needs guidance following an injury, we’re here to help.

Filing for bankruptcy is a big financial and emotional step, and it’s completely normal to have questions about what comes next.

One of the topics our team at Winter Law Group hears most often is how bankruptcy can affect your credit. My clients often ask this question in exactly this way. I tell them that the real question they want to have the answer to is this: How will the filing of a bankruptcy affect my ability to obtain new credit in the future. And that is a question that requires a little more explanation than I can provide here. There are many factors to credit worthiness and the score is only one factor, and not even the most important one. The discharge you will receive upon a successful completion of your bankruptcy will go a long way to establishing your worthiness because it fixes the single most important factor after your income, and that is your debt to income ratio! I would be happy to explain more. Call me!

But there is a real path forward after bankruptcy. With time, consistency, and smart decisions around new credit, rebuilding is absolutely possible. In fact, it will likely take much less time than you may think or have probably been told

If you’re navigating debt or wondering how Chapter 7 or Chapter 13 may impact your financial future, our bankruptcy attorneys here in Fresno are always here to help. Send us a message anytime to get your questions answered.
