Prop 36 passed.

I know that what people want to talk about is the Presidential election, but to me, been there done that.

Prop 36 directly affects me because I am a criminal lawyer. If you have a friend or family member that is dealing with issues and is looking at harsher consequences:

Gun Owners:

A change in California law that might interest you.

Commencing JULY 1 2019

An ammunition vendor shall not sell or transfer ammunition without recording the following on a Department of Justice (DOJ) form:
1) Date of sale or transfer
2) Purchaser or transferees drivers license or other ID number
3) Brand, type, and amount of ammunition sold or transferred
4) The purchasers full name and signature
5) The name of the salesperson
6) The name of the purchasers full residential address and telephone number
7) The purchasers or transferee's date of birth
PC 30352

The DOJ, after receiving said form, shall electronically approve the purchase or transfer of ammunition through a vendor after they determine the purchaser or transferree is eligible.
PC 30370 talks about eligibility of purchaser/transferee to receive ammunition

Basically, if you want ammo after July 1, be prepared to give the government much more information than you have had to in the past.

Luton Law Office had a fantastic day today! Got 3 clients really good outcomes.

Client #1 this morning I got a man charged with 211 felony robbery (strike) reduced to misdemeanor domestic violence - probation, no jail.

Client #2 a man this morning charged with attempted murder. Got attempted murder charge (strike - life exposure and client serves 85% of sentence) reduced to accessory after the fact - 3 years and client receives 50% time credits.

Case #3 this afternoon I helped a 13 year old girl who beat up another girl who was harassing her. She is charged with felony assault. I got Judge to agree to give her a grant of informal probation. She doesn't have to plead to any charges. If she stays out of trouble for six months the felony charge will be dismissed!

Three serious felonies. Two adults, one minor. Fantastic results!

Best day I think I ever had as a defense lawyer.
