I Passed My Real Estate Broker’s Exam…
“You can do anything you put your mind to.”
That’s what my mom used to tell me… and now I understand what she really meant.
I bought my first home at 21, and a few years later lost it to foreclosure.
In 2013, I started my real estate journey. I went straight for the Broker’s exam… and didn’t even show up.
The second time? I failed—with a 39%.
No experience. Just a degree and required courses.
Every year, I put “Real Estate Broker’s License” on my vision board… and every year, I didn’t achieve it. Not because I wasn’t capable—but because I wasn’t mentally prepared.
Fear had a hold on me.
Fear of failure. Fear of rejection. Fear of what people would think.
So I procrastinated.
In 2015, I got my real estate license—but didn’t fully step into it until 2019 when we purchased our second home, and I represented us myself.
Even then… I knew I wanted more, but fear still stopped me.
Recently, I checked my exam portal… and saw I had rescheduled or didn’t show up 21 times.
21 times I let fear win.
The day I finally passed… I almost didn’t show up again. And mid-exam, fear crept in.
I paused my test, went to the bathroom, and prayed—asking God to remind me why this was bigger than me.
In that moment, I remembered the vision He gave me years ago when my husband first planted the seed of me becoming a Realtor.
This career has been challenging, but it has also opened doors for me:
✨ Serving hundreds of buyers and sellers
✨ More flexibility with my kids & supporting my husband’s construction company
✨ Financial growth as I continue building
✨ Elevating my Master’s in Leadership Development and mentoring dozens of women to start their real estate careers with confidence
I’m still on the journey—but I’ve grown far beyond where I started.
And now I can finally say:
I didn’t let fear win.
I’m so honored to be on this journey—and I’m just getting started.
The sky is the limit. If you’re letting fear hold you back… this is your sign.
Show up anyway. 💛
