Horowitz Law filed a lawsuit against HCA Florida Woodmont Hospital on behalf of a patient who alleges she was sexually assaulted by nurse John Pica. The lawsuit alleges that the hospital failed to protect her despite warning signs concerning Pica’s prior misconduct. Pica was criminally charged and surrendered his nursing license following disciplinary proceedings.

Fort Myers Mayor Kevin Anderson is facing allegations of sexual misconduct after multiple men publicly accused him of making unwanted sexual advances and other inappropriate conduct.

The allegations have prompted calls for Anderson’s resignation and an independent investigation. Anderson has denied wrongdoing, and no criminal charges have been filed.

A former mental health therapy intern at New Hope CORPS in Homestead has been arrested after authorities alleged she engaged in a sexual relationship with a patient under her care at an addiction treatment facility.

According to investigators, the alleged misconduct occurred while the patient was receiving treatment. Mental health professionals occupy positions of trust and are prohibited from engaging in sexual relationships with current patients.

Horowitz Law has filed a lawsuit in Palm Beach County against Dr. Andrew Sorial and Boca Raton Psychiatry on behalf of eight former patients who allege they were subjected to sexual misconduct during virtual psychiatric treatment sessions.

The lawsuit alleges that Dr. Sorial exploited the psychiatrist-patient relationship by pressuring female patients to expose their bodies, wear revealing clothing during telehealth appointments, and send intimate photographs under the guise of treatment. It further alleges that Boca Raton Psychiatry failed to take appropriate action despite warning signs.
