Happy International Dog Day to our favorite dog, Mr. Pancake. 🥞🐾
Mr. Pancake may be the official mascot around here, but if you spend much time at CGH, you’ll quickly realize he has plenty of company.
There are a lot of dogs in the CGH family.
Being a “dog person” has never been a requirement to work here. Somehow, though, we seem to collect them. Maybe that’s because we’ve noticed something about dog people. They tend to understand the value of simply being there. They know how much comfort can come from sitting beside someone when they’re having a hard day. They know that loyalty matters. They know that sometimes you don’t need the perfect words. You just need someone who refuses to leave your side.
Come to think of it, those are qualities we care a whole lot about around here, too.
Dogs have a remarkable way of making our lives better without asking for much in return. They greet us like we’re the most important person in the world. They make ordinary days more joyful and difficult days a little easier. They remind us to get outside, stay curious, forgive quickly, love enthusiastically, and never underestimate the healing power of having a friend nearby.
That spirit is a big part of why Mr. Pancake became our mascot in the first place. He’s a little goofy, a lot lovable, and very good at reminding us that life is about more than the serious stuff.
It’s also why we’re so proud to sponsor Tammy Furever Friends with KOSI 101.1 and help deserving shelter dogs find the people who will love them for the rest of their lives. Because every dog deserves to know what it feels like to belong somewhere.
So today, here’s to Mr. Pancake. Here’s to the office dogs, the couch dogs, the adventure dogs, the rescue dogs, the dogs we grew up with, and the ones we still miss more than we can put into words.
And here’s to every dog who has ever looked at us like we were their whole world. Because the truth is, they’ve always been the center of ours, too. ❤️
