With the increase in our clients utilizing AI formats I thought it important to post the following warning:
We are seeing a growing number of clients arrive with questions, theories, or “research” generated by a consumer AI tool and much of it is wrong. AI tools routinely invent legal rules, cite cases that do not exist, misstate West Virginia and federal law, and confidently produce analysis that has no basis in reality. They are designed to sound authoritative, not to be correct.
Please understand:
We cannot meaningfully respond to long, AI-generated questions, arguments, or “legal analysis” sent to the firm.
Untangling what an AI tool got wrong takes more time than answering your actual question, and that time is not a productive use of your legal fees.
We will not litigate, argue, or pursue a position based on inaccurate law or fabricated cases produced by an AI tool, no matter how confident the AI sounded.
If you have a question about your case, the best thing you can do is ask us directly, in your own words. A short, plain question from you will always get you further and faster than pages of AI generated material.
Thank you for choosing us to help you navigate the hardest time in your lives.
