If you receive a “Final Notice — Court Enforcement Action” like this by text message, it is a scam.

There is no such court as the “Municipal Court of Kanawha County,” and no judge by the name of “Michael Rodriguez” serving in that capacity.

West Virginia courts do not send traffic violation notices by text, and they will never demand payment through a QR code or link.

⚠️ Do not click the link. Do not scan the QR code. Do not provide any personal or payment information.

If you’re unsure whether something is legitimate, contact the Kanawha County Circuit Clerk’s Office or your local law enforcement agency directly using a verified phone number.

We were proud to represent 16 of the children injured in this terrible DUI school bus crash. To prevent this from happening again, the NTSB recommends that all new school buses be equipped with alcohol detection systems.

The NTSB recommended that all new school buses be equipped with alcohol detection systems and passenger lap/shoulder belts after rollover school bus crash in Millstone, West Virginia that seriously injured three students and left 16 others with minor injuries.
