Sarah recently secured a favorable resolution for the family of a special needs child killed in Charlotte, NC. She also won a landmark WV Supreme Court case on behalf of a foreign exchange student who was secretly filmed in her bathroom by the host father.

Sarah has been named as a West Virginia Super Lawyer, Rising Star in civil litigation and was featured in the Virginia & West Virginia Super Lawyers magazine. She has also been nominated and selected by her colleagues as one of the “Best Lawyers in America: Ones to Watch” in the areas of civil litigation and healthcare law. Sarah was also featured in Super Lawyers Magazine.

Sarah earned her Bachelor of Science in legal studies from the University of Toledo in 2013, graduating magna cm laude, and earned her Juris Doctorate from the University of Toledo College of Law in 2016, graduating magna cm laude and Order of the Coif. While in law school, Sarah served as the Executive Articles Editor of the Toledo Law Review.

Help us congratulate Emma Shields on her one-year work anniversary. Emma is a full-time student at Marshall University who will be going to law school next year. She started with the firm as a summer intern but is now working as a receptionist.

We are grateful for her hard work, professionalism, and positive attitude every day, and we are excited to see all she accomplishes as she heads off to law school. Congratulations on one year!

There is no such court as the “Municipal Court of Kanawha County,” and no judge by the name of “Michael Rodriguez” serving in that capacity.

West Virginia courts do not send traffic violation notices by text, and they will never demand payment through a QR code or link.

⚠️ Do not click the link. Do not scan the QR code. Do not provide any personal or payment information.

If you’re unsure whether something is legitimate, contact the Kanawha County Circuit Clerk’s Office or your local law enforcement agency directly using a verified phone number.

We were proud to represent 16 of the children injured in this terrible DUI school bus crash. To prevent this from happening again, the NTSB recommends that all new school buses be equipped with alcohol detection systems.
