ATTENTION ALL TAXPAYERS THAT ARE CLAIMING (EITC &/OR ACTC )

The Protecting Americans from Tax Hikes (PATH) Act requires the IRS to hold refunds for taxpayers who claim the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) or Additional Child Tax Credit (ACTC) until after February 14, to prevent tax fraud.
The IRS will update its website and app on February 17, 2026, with refund updates for early filers who claimed the EITC or ACTC.
PATH funding will be done in two batches, on February 18, and February 20, 2026.
Most of the time, the IRS will fund tax refunds within 21 days but does not guarantee a certain date.
The IRS will lift the PATH Act holding requirement on February 16, 2026, and fund most refunds of taxpayers claiming either the EITC or ACTC by March 6, 2026.

Filing "Exempt" on Your W-4 Means No Taxes Owed

"I'll just claim exempt on my W-4 so I get my full paycheck. I'll deal with taxes later."

You gonna FAFO playing with the IRS. You're committing tax fraud and setting yourself up for a bill you can't pay.

So you have no withholding all year and your are living good off of a full paycheck.

Eventually you receive a tax bill that will be due immediately. You have zero saved because you spent it. You needed the money.

You face failure to pay penalty of .5% per month, underpayment penalties, criminal charges if willful.

Claiming exempt is only legal if you had NO tax liability last year and you expect NO tax liability this year.

Basically, you made so little money you don't owe taxes.
TikTok told you it's a "loophole" Yeah no....it's a crime!!!!
