REE Automotive Ltd., an Israeli electric vehicle platform manufacturer, has decided to cancel its plans for a North American headquarters in Pflugerville, Texas. Originally, the company secured an incentives agreement in 2022, committing to a $25 million investment in a 120,000-square-foot facility at One Thirty Business Park (SW Corner of E. Pecan and 130). The project was expected to create 125 jobs in operations, research and design, and light manufacturing.�
However, due to a shift in its business strategy, REE opted to withdraw from the project. Instead, the company has partnered with a Detroit-based company to manufacture its flagship vehicle. Since REE did not meet the required conditions outlined in the original incentives agreement, no incentive payments were issued.
A project that was supposed to garner around $25 million in improvements and employ 125 people in Pflugerville is no longer happening.
