⚽ The World Cup is coming to Atlanta, and that means heavier traffic, more pedestrians, and busier roads.

If you’re heading downtown, plan ahead, slow down, and stay alert. A few extra minutes of patience can help prevent a serious accident.

Stay safe and enjoy the excitement Atlanta has to offer!

On behalf of our clients, Lee Blasingame and his two children, we are grateful for the diligent work of our unanimous Supreme Court in issuing a thorough and comprehensive opinion affirming the jury’s verdict and affirming Superior Court Judge Nancy Bills’s handling of this trial.

It’s important to emphasize that the Supreme Court did not issue a pro-plaintiff or a pro-defendant opinion—or take one party’s side over another.

Instead, the Supreme Court enforced everyone’s constitutional right to trial by jury—a right which is enjoyed by plaintiffs and defendants. And the Supreme Court respected the separation of powers and interpreted the General Assembly’s intent based on the plain text—not some imagined public policy.

We are blessed in Georgia to have a fair and impartial judiciary that decides cases—not based on politics, not based on personal preferences—but based on neutral and even-handed principles of law.

Finally, the Supreme Court also decided a number of important non-constitutional issues, including how to apply new Georgia Code Section 9-15-16. There too, the Supreme Court showed the proper deference and respect to the discretion of trial judges and the jury.

We recently had the opportunity to present at the AAJ Nursing Home Litigation Section on the topic: “Speed Trials in Complicated Cases: How We Simplify Medical Malpractice and Nursing Home Cases for Trial.”

Always grateful for the opportunity to collaborate, share ideas, and continue pushing the conversation forward in complex litigation.

Behind every strong case is a paralegal handling the details no one sees — organizing records, tracking deadlines, communicating with clients, preparing for depositions and trial, and keeping the entire case moving forward. The behind-the-scenes work matters more than most people realize. ⚖️

When a loved one is in a nursing home, small warning signs can point to much bigger problems. Falls, bedsores, medication errors, and sudden behavioral changes should never be ignored.

Knowing what to watch for can make all the difference.

A fall in a nursing home does not automatically mean there is a case, but it can be a major red flag. Repeated falls, lack of supervision, delayed medical care, or failure to follow safety protocols may point to negligence. Knowing the difference matters.
