Burnout is common language in real estate. But what if that label is keeping us from recognizing something more serious?

In his latest Real Answers column, behavioral expert Lee Goldstein examines the overlap between burnout and depression, including exhaustion, loss of interest, trouble concentrating and feelings of hopelessness. He also explains why he believes changing the language around burnout could change how agents respond when they or a colleague are struggling.

This is a conversation worth having, especially in an industry where unpredictable income, long hours and pressure can follow agents well beyond the workday.

For brokerages operating across multiple MLS markets, complexity comes with a cost.

At the recent CMLS conference, industry leaders explored several ways MLS organizations are addressing that friction, from mergers and data exchanges to shared services and more consistent infrastructure. The common starting point? Listening to brokers about where boundaries, rules and systems are making business harder.

Marilyn Wilson of WAV Group looks at lessons from the Miami/Palm Beaches merger, REcolorado and Orion, and why collaboration does not have to mean consolidation.

Where is your MLS seeing the greatest opportunity to reduce friction for brokers?

Integration announcements. Updates that matter to buyers evaluating tools right now. RE Technology distributes that news through 175+ MLS and Association partners to an audience three times larger than it was two years ago. That category conversation is already happening. The only question is who is in it. retechnology.com https://retechnology.com

AI companies want data. Real estate has a lot of valuable data to protect.

The legal battle between The New York Times, OpenAI and Microsoft could have implications well beyond publishing, particularly for MLSs and brokerages deciding how listing photos, remarks and property data can be used to train AI.

Victor Lund of WAV Group explores the copyright questions at the center of the case, where protections for listing assets differ, and why the industry may need to rely on licensing and contracts as much as copyright law. It also looks at REdistribute as one approach to giving AI and technology companies a legitimate path to licensed MLS data.

As AI demand for real estate data grows, how should the industry protect and monetize what it creates?

What could your team do with 40 extra hours a week?

That’s roughly how much time Zane Burnett says his 20-person team at The Agency is saving with AI. In our latest webinar, Burnett joined Rechat AI's Audie Chamberlain to show what AI looks like when it’s built into everyday real estate workflows.

See how property websites went from taking up to two days to about five minutes, how AI can handle follow-up and marketing tasks, and where brokerages are finding measurable time savings.
