Doug Hafer has been invited to speak at the 52nd Annual Ernest E. Smith Oil, Gas and Mineral Law Institute, considered the definitive course for attorneys and corporate lawyers seeking essential legal updates and insight into emerging trends in the oil and gas industry. His presentation, “Lessons Learned on Contract Construction Disputes,” will provide practical guidance on drafting and interpreting oil and gas leases based on recent Texas Supreme Court decisions.

Presented by The University of Texas School of Law and the Oil, Gas and Energy Resources Law Section of the State Bar of Texas, the event will take place at the Royal Sonesta Hotel Houston on April 16–17, 2026.

“Preparing Every Student for Tomorrow’s Successes” was the theme of this year’s State of the District Luncheon. Curnutt & Hafer has long supported Arlington ISD and our local educational community, and as a sponsor we had the unique opportunity to experience the day through the lens of a student.

From touring the Arlington ISD Athletic Center with student ambassadors to joining elective classes and attending a “school assembly” led by Dr. Matt Smith, the day highlighted student, educator, and campus achievements with performances throughout.

We give this event an A+.

As we're wrapping up Women's History Month this March, we would like to take a moment to recognize the talented and inspiring women of Curnutt & Hafer. These women are essential to our firm’s success and to fulfilling our mission of providing every client exceptional legal service.

On the second Tuesday of each month, a group of us from Curnutt & Hafer have the privilege of serving lunch to volunteers, staff, and those seeking services at Mission Arlington. With funds from our Generosity Purpose, we cater a hot meal from Candlelite Inn, providing over 150 meals.

Through our Generosity Purpose, we are dedicated to donating a percentage of our income to charitable organizations whose mission has a direct, meaningful impact on our community.
