One of the things I think more kitchens could use: a place to actually sit and stay awhile.

The kitchen has become the center of the home, so I love creating seating areas that feel like a natural place to land. Somewhere to have coffee, pour a glass of w**e after dinner, watch TV, or sit and talk while someone is cooking without feeling removed from the room.

It’s a simple design decision, but it completely changes how a space is lived in.

That’s what I’m always thinking about in a project. Not just what looks beautiful, but how the layout can make a home feel better to live in.

This mudroom transformation was about so much more than making it beautiful. We completely rethought how the space needed to function.

What was once a wall with a few coat hooks became two full custom wardrobes, giving the family significantly more concealed storage. The original coat closet was then repurposed for the adjoining kitchen, allowing us to create a walk-in scullery with even more functional storage.

Good design isn’t just about what you see. It’s about making every square foot work harder while still feeling intentional, elevated and timeless.

The upgrade you don’t see in a mood board. This was a full renovation but one of the most important design decisions happened outside.

Before finishes, fixtures, or furnishings, we addressed how the home interacts with its surroundings. Selective tree removal allowed natural light to enter the space properly, improving how the interiors function and feel.

Good design looks at the whole property.
Light isn’t just a feature it’s a foundation.
