Our March Madness bracket is coming to a close this weekend!
If you didn’t join us this year, be sure to mark your calendar for next time. We host our bracket dinner every year on the Tuesday of the opening week of March Madness, and it’s always a great night with friends, food, and a little friendly competition.
Here’s a glimpse of Mark’s weekly bracket emails—packed with fun stats, history, and tournament insights that keep everyone entertained and in the game right up to the final buzzer.
The "Duke-UConn" Heartbreaker: In what was easily the game of the tournament, #2 UConn stunned #1 Duke with a miraculous 73–72 finish. The Huskies trailed for much of the game but clawed back to secure their third Final Four appearance in the last four seasons, leaving the Blue Devils shell-shocked. The final play and buzzer be**er will go down as one of the craziest finishes in NCAA Tournament history!
In the 616 Homes Bracket Challenge:
Sally Druer has taken over 1st Place with 95 points! With her pick to win it all (Michigan) looking like a juggernaut, she is the clear favorite to take home the prize.
The "Duke Disaster": That miraculous UConn finish didn't just hurt Duke fans—it squashed the championship hopes of a huge chunk of our entire leaderboard. Kristen (2nd, 89 pts), Jen Ross (3rd, 88 pts), and our leading youngsters Eyman and Jayden (T-4th overall, 85 pts) all had Duke winning it all, meaning their chances to win the Overall division are slim to none.
Still Alive: Don't count out Blake or Emily Moody (T-10th, 83 pts). Blake will likely win the pool if his projected UConn over Arizona final plays out, while Emily is in the hunt if Arizona takes the trophy next Monday.
The Youngsters: While Eyman and Jayden currently lead the kids' bracket with 85 points (and have Duke winning), watch out for Julian in 3rd place with 84 points. If Julian's pick to win (Michigan) holds true, he will end up at the top of the Youngster's division.
